I’m doing a podcast of my reading through Labyrinth. It’s pretty fun yet work intensive. I am doing it straight through without editing, so you can hear the pages rustle. Plus, I have to correct myself on occasion. But I like the natural feel of a human voice these days.

I’m editing Mind Master Chronicles: Butterfly. Alas, I wrote the scenes based on which I felt inspired by. So now, I have to pay the price and put them in order!

I’ve been giving out some signed copies of Beginnings. I also have business cards of the cover. I’ve gotten good feedback on this book, which I appreciate! The third book is being typed right now. Strangely, when I filled up notebook 2, I numbered notebook 3 wrong. I wrote 193 when it was 293. I’m thinking maybe I took some time off before I finished it? Either way, it didn’t dawn on me until recently that I wrote a longer book. (rofl) I refer to the third book as Beginnings 2. It has a more creative name, but I don’t want an AI bot to steal it! šŸ˜€

12/28/25 writing update

I had a setback with Butterfly. When my computer broke, Butterfly was typed with Notepad. Notepad used to be format free. Now it has its own formatting and AI, which doesnā€™t match with Word. It caused a lot of formatting issues when I copied the text over, including disappearing text. So, Butterfly has to be retyped in Word. This will take at least 45 more sessions. I decided to go with calling it sessions since some days there is no typing ā€” for example, when I have appointments. Right now I have my pre-order date set for July 1 on Draft2Digital.

Iā€™ve decided Biosphere will remain Book 1. I figured it would be better to have the spin-off at the beginning than interrupting the three-part story arc.

I hate AI. It bothers me that Amazon is firing 14,000 employees in favor of AI. It also bothers me that their AI is infiltrating the Kindle functions, so I have unpublished my eBooks on Amazon. When I find the time, Iā€™ll make a list of the places you can still buy my books. I know Amazon wonā€™t notice my little protest, but at this point I donā€™t care. Iā€™m also eliminating Kobo because of the AI. I also got rid of Apple awhile back because of AppleTVā€™s blasphemous episode on ā€œYour Friends and Neighbors.ā€ Apple is also moving forward with AI-narrated audio books.

I donā€™t have a problem with saying ā€œHappy Holidaysā€ referring to the holidays in December, but Iā€™ve never heard so many advertisers go out of their way not to mention Christmas. We have a right to celebrate Christmas and the Jewish people have the right to celebrate Hanukkah. Just mention the specific holiday as well as the umbrella term, holidays. Though, the commercialism of the season isnā€™t the point of Christmas and Hanukkah, it bears reminding the advertisers that the spiritual meaning behind these celebrations inspired people to give gifts in the first place. And it also bears mentioning the meaning behind Christmas and Hanukkah is God.

Meanwhile, my e-books are free on the Smashwords sale. Iā€™m thinking of making Contagion Phase 1: Biosphere into Book 3. Beginnings is really Book 1. I hadnā€™t planned on writing the third book, but right now Books 2-4 all go together, and Biosphere is more of a spin-off. But then, Iā€™ll to see how hard it is to change it.

Meanwhile, the content editing (editing round 1 of 3) of Mind Master Chronicles: Butterfly is progressing, but itā€™s time consuming. I have to make sections I wrote out of order all flow together. Plus, I have to write sections to fill in the gaps. I do five pages at a time. It will take at least three months for it to be ready.

11/26/25

I feel slow, but really what do I have to compare it to? I finally got Contagion Phase 2: Beginnings done and published. I am starting the editing on Mind Master Chronicles: Butterfly (Book 4). Iā€™m not sure when Iā€™ll be done with that one as the content of Book 5 got mixed in with Book 4. Mainly, my time has been limited by the four trips Iā€™ve had to the hospital this past year. Iā€™ve also been doing a lot of physical therapy for Super Stump (right leg/ amputee) and Lefty (left leg/ stroke survivor). God helped me figure out I have a beef allergy in addition to my gluten allergy. Both flare my ulcerative colitis. Usually, itā€™s hard to pinpoint a trigger. This time I was able to. And before this I didnā€™t realize one could be allergic to beef. Iā€™m still writing as much as I can. Right now, itā€™s four books but not every day. Iā€™m entering my six e-books into the Smashwords End of the Year sale for free.

The writing/ typing/ editing/ and proofreading are going well. I’m about a third of the way through the Contagion Phase 2: Beginnings final round of editing. Mind Master Chronicles 4: Butterfly is about a third of the way through typing/proofreading. Then, the three rounds of editing will begin. I’m trying to write a page in Contagion Phase 3 six days a week. It’s almost done and is ready for typing … as is Mind Master Chronicles 5: For the other four books, my goal is writing 3 pages per week.

I’m giving up my GoDaddy site since they’ve integrated AI into it. My domain name will eventually redirect here (WordPress).

Re-establishing Writing Regime

Iā€™ve added more books to my writing regime, but Iā€™m only doing a page a day of any one book. My priority is getting Biosphere 3 done regularly, but Iā€™m chipping away at four others now. It keeps things interesting, and I donā€™t want to lose that inspirational feeling. Writing is a discipline like exercise, it becomes easier to establish a routine with it the more you do it. But notice that is easier not easy.

I am almost done with round 2 of 3 of editing of Beginnings. Butterfly typing has been increased to 4 pages a day. I proofread 5 pages a day of the typed pages to catch up on the time I lost.

Physical therapy takes a lot of time. Super Stump and Lefty (left foot) are making a lot of progress with standing. Iā€™m opting for a walker rather than a prosthetic.

When I shelved books at a local library (in the liberal state of Minnesota) years ago, young adult was Sweet Valley High. The content is a lot more mature now. Bookstores have mature content in the children’s section. Thatā€™s why I decided to list all my books as adult fiction. I figure no one will know what ya means anymore.

Meanwhile, Iā€™ve gotten back into a routine of writing, editing and typing. So, Iā€™m making progress.
